Today
Today is the day-level orientation pane. It tells you the date the platform is operating on, surfaces work that has accumulated in the inbox, recommends configuration steps if any are pending, and offers the day’s digest where one exists. It is the pane you open first thing.
What You See
Section titled “What You See”| Card | What It Tells You |
|---|---|
| Today | The current date as the platform sees it (the user’s local timezone). The platform’s day boundary determines which digests, schedules, and quotas are in effect. |
| Captures in inbox | How many captures (Web Clipper saves, Drafts, manual notes, email forwards, etc.) are sitting unprocessed. Includes a Run process-inbox action that dispatches the inbox-triage workflow without leaving the pane. |
| Recommendations | Configuration suggestions — packs to install, scopes to declare, integrations to wire — based on what the platform observes is missing. Each suggestion expands to show details and a setup affordance. |
| Digest | The day’s generated digest. If no digest exists yet (early in the day, or the workflow hasn’t run), the card shows an empty state rather than inventing one. See Digests for digest mechanics. |
Cards are built-in (from the platform) or pack-supplied (from an installed pack that contributes its own day-level surface). Each card shows its provenance and how long it has held its current state.
Captures In Inbox
Section titled “Captures In Inbox”The captures card surfaces what the platform has received but not yet filed. Sources vary: a browser extension save, a Drafts capture, a forwarded email, a manual paste. The card shows the count; the Run process-inbox action triggers the triage workflow, which routes each capture to its destination using your configured classifier.
If the count stays high or grows, the triage workflow may need attention (failing, deferred, or the classifier needs corrections). Activity for the most recent process-inbox run is the next place to look.
Recommendations
Section titled “Recommendations”Recommendations are the platform’s hint that something further could be configured to make Today more useful — for example, a domain you talk about often but haven’t tagged, a service you’ve connected but not granted scope to, a pack the platform thinks fits your usage. Recommendations are advisory; the platform will not act on them without your dispatch.
Empty States
Section titled “Empty States”A clean Today is normal:
- Captures may be zero if you triage frequently.
- Recommendations may be zero once the platform has nothing useful to suggest.
- Digest may be absent if the day is young or you have not configured a digest workflow.
The platform shows empty states rather than inventing content. An empty Today is not an error.
