Instance

A per-user installation of Stallari — one vault, one identity, one set of packs, one set of credentials.

A single Mac can host multiple instances (personal + work, say); a single instance can span multiple Macs. An instance is bounded by identity, not hardware. See Cross-machine for how instances span devices and how the substrate keeps per-instance state isolated even on a shared Mac.
